Marcus Vinicius Vallinari, born in São Paulo - Brazil, known as Marcus Cabeça in the Capoeira world, started training Capoeira when he was 17 years old, in São Paulo - Brazil, with Master Eddy Murphy.
Marcus saw the first movements of Capoeira from the sister of one of his college friends (Lorena), who taught him the basic movements. Amazed by what he learnt he found out with his neighbour (Tubarão) that Capoeira classes where being taught at a gym close to his house. It was at this gym that Marcus Cabeça met Master Eddy Murphy.
Marcus trained with Master Eddy Murphy for 3 consecutive years, until the day he was going back to the gym for his second training session, as he was training for the first University Championship of Capoeira. Just about 500 meters before arriving at the gym Marcus suffered a Motorbike accident that took him out of Capoeira for 2 years.
Marcus broke his left leg in 13 places, broke his left hand, dislocated his right shoulder, had several bruises all around his body and had a blood clot on his brain which was removed after he recovered from his leg injury.
Surprising many people, Marcus Cabeça fully recovered from all the injuries and in October 2001 he went back to train Capoeira getting his graduated belt with Master Eddy Murphy in December 2001.
In 2002 Marcus Cabeça had the opportunity to go to London where he had the chance to visit many other groups and play Capoeira with many Capoeiristas of different styles.
At the end of 2005 Marcus Cabeça following the instruction of Master Eddy Murphy and the permission of Master Barrão, started to prepare himself to start teaching Capoeira in London.
On 16th of July of 2006 Marcus Cabeça taught his first class in London wearing the Axé Capoeira t-shirt as Estagiário Marcus Cabeça, with the supervision of Mestre Barrão and started the Axé Capoeira UK group, part of Axé Capoeira group.
For those who have known Marcus Cabeça since he first started training Capoeira, know what Capoeira means to him today. It is through Capoeira that he found the strength to recover of his terrible accident, and it is in Capoeira that he finds the strength to get through the obstacles we all face in our day to day life.
Is with this attitude that Marcus Cabeça teaches his students the Art of Capoeira, with discipline in a healthy and fun environment showing them that Capoeira is much more than an exercise, as one of the biggest Capoeira Master said (Master Pastinha) "Capoeira is everything the mouth eats!".
